The Alleged Article Thief - Brett Harris

Allegedly, the President of U of Texas/AM University Investment Management Co. - Brett Harris - lifted 6,000 articles from Dow Jones publications, reports Reuters Legal. Then he allegedly published them without attribution in his newsletter "Reading with Brett."

The lawsuit, seeking unspecified damages, is "Dow Jones & Co. v Harris."

If the case is proven, for those of us in digital communications the scheme seems a crazed act. It is so easy to pick up copies of one's own work that is out there under some other professional's name. That is especially the situation if there are thousands of instances of that and the content appears in one publication.
