Twitter - What Is Elon Musk Up To?
The Elon Musk proposed takeover of Twitter has become a daily headline in media outlets. The latest in influential Insider includes these updates:
- When the deal closes Musk will take on the role of temporary CEO. The completion of the deal, though, becomes more iffy. Two wrenches in the works, as Law and More reported, are the proposed class action lawsuit by the Orlando Police Pension Fund and pressure by the Open Markets institute on FTC Chairperson Lina Khan to not approve the Twitter deal on antitrust grounds. Either or both could significantly delay the closing of the deal or actually put the kibosh on it.
- More focus on technical matters such as hardcore software engineering, information security, and server hardware. To achieve this, it is expected will assess current manpower in these categories at Twitter.
- Ramped up attention to design.
If there are no legal or regulatory obstacles, the deal is expected to close in about a year.
