"How do you build a network? Keep track of everyone you meet in your industry and then interact with that network positively."
By BRUCE STACHENFELD
This appeared on the digital front page of Abovethelaw.
What does Stachenfeld assume we will do? Ignore the contacts we have encountered? And if we we pull them into our network, then treat them negatively?
As a boomer I was among the generation which had been cultivated by the emerging Career Guidance industry. Most of those recommendations were generic - that is, didn't apply to specific situations. And not directly on the money.
With clouds hovering over the law firm sector as well as much of professional services, those dishing out recommendations for getting, holding, and moving on to better work better understand what we are facing every day.
